David Fournier is an executive managing director within the Affordable Housing advisory division of Newmark Knight Frank. As a pioneer in the brokerage of affordable housing, he has been involved in the sale of over 25,000 units of affordable housing properties nationally. Mr. Fournier’s experience includes the sale of Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties, partnership interests, bond-financed communities and Section 8/HAP properties.  Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank in 2008, he was a Managing Director at HFF, Inc. in Atlanta and lnsignia/ESG in Boston.

Mr. Fournier holds a Bachelor of Science degree in real estate finance from the University of New Orleans and earned the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. He is a board member for the National Housing & Rehabilitation Association and is actively involved with Housing Works Austin.

Cliff McDaniel serves as an executive managing director within the Affordable Housing Group of Newmark Knight Frank’s Houston office. He has become an expert in the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) arena and regularly speaks on panels concerning the valuation of LIHTC properties. Mr. McDaniel’s in depth knowledge of the Qualified Contract Process (QCP) and Right of First Refusal (RoFR) process, as well as Year-15 sales options, has allowed him to create unique and creative opportunities for his clients. He maintains good relationships with General Partners and Limited Partner's which has allowed him to help negotiate and resolve contentious issues with parties that have diverging interest. Mr. McDaniel’s clients include Trammell Crow Residential, AIG, AIMCO, Wood Partners, Morrison Grove, Wentwood Capital and Boston Financial as well numerous local and regional general partners.

In addition to directing the brokerage services for Newmark Knight Frank’s Affordable Housing group, he is also involved in various philanthropic efforts serving as Executive Director of On Track Ministries, Vice President of Club Outreach Ministries, and Secretary of West Houston 15 MUD.

Derek DeHay is a director with Newmark Knight Frank’s Affordable Housing Group. He joined the team in 2010 and has been involved in the valuation and disposition of over $3 billion of affordable housing properties across the country. Mr. DeHay’s current role includes working with developers, syndicators and direct Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investors on disposition strategies of properties in the LIHTC program, the Project-based Section 8 program and the USDA Rural Development program.

Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. DeHay worked for a private multihousing investment group participating in the acquisition and redevelopment of distressed assets in the Southeast. In this position he received a general contractor’s license in multiple states and renovated over 2,000 units. Previously, Mr. DeHay also worked as a financial analyst for a LIHTC investment and asset management firm providing investment management to corporate limited partners that were invested in LIHTC’s. He brings to Newmark Knight Frank firsthand experience in multihousing property repositioning as well as an intricate knowledge of the investor expectations and complex structure of a LIHTC investment.

Mr. DeHay graduated from the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and real estate and he is a CCIM candidate.

Christopher Bergmann - Director

Chris Bergmann is a director for Newmark Knight Frank where he assists clients in the disposition of affordable housing assets and works with clients needing to determine exit strategies for Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and HUD assisted properties. He handles all aspects of the marketing process including client development, market research, valuation and underwriting. Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Bergmann was the senior managing director for Trammell Crow Residential where he was in charge of their Affordable Housing Division and before that he was President of The Shenandoah Group. Mr. Bergmann was responsible for the development of over 16,000 units of affordable housing during his tenure with both of these two firms.

He is a graduate of James Madison University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management and is a former president of the Texas Association of Affordable Housing Providers (TAAHP) as well as a former board member of the organization.

Cheryl Higley joined Newmark Knight Frank’s predecessor firm in March 2015 as Director, Multifamily Loan Originations. Cheryl has over twenty years of commercial real estate finance experience, with fifteen of those years focused primarily on multifamily loan originations for affordable and market rate executions. Cheryl is based in Austin with the Affordable Investment Sales Team, offering buyers the best financing solutions nationwide. She has originated and closed over 200 multifamily agency loans.

Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Cheryl was the top producer at Dougherty Mortgage covering the South Central Region. While at Dougherty Mortgage, she closed over $350,000,000 of multifamily loans through their Fannie Mae DUS license. Prior to 2009, Cheryl successfully launched and managed the Multifamily Small Loan Program at Royal Bank of Canada. All loans originated in this program were sold to Fannie Mae. Cheryl got her banking start at LaSalle Bank where for five years she successfully originated CMBS loans as well as conventional and affordable multifamily housing loans.

Pete Hoover is a transaction manager for Newmark Knight Frank’s Affordable Housing Group. His responsibilities include business development, valuation, financial modeling, and marketing. Mr. Hoover works to develop relationships with clients, including developers, syndicators, and direct Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investors, and regularly consults clients on disposition strategies involving LIHTC and Project-Based Section 8 properties. He is also responsible for overseeing the analytical team’s underwriting of the Affordable Housing Group’s listings, and other ad-hoc apartment market analysis. Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Hoover worked as a financial analyst for an international real estate firm, and for a national tax, audit and valuation firm, where he contributed to market studies and appraisals for LIHTC and Section 8 properties across the nation.

Aniekan Udoh is a senior financial analyst for Newmark Knight Frank’s Affordable Housing group, where he assists the brokers with client development, market research and property valuation. He is also responsible for underwriting, financial analysis and preparation of marketing materials for disposition and acquisition of affordable housing assets across the nation. Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Udoh worked as a Senior Development Coordinator for an affordable multifamily housing developer, in which capacity he served as project manager on several affordable multifamily development projects.

Davis McDaniel, financial analyst, joined Newmark Knight Frank in 2018 where his primary responsibility is underwriting valuations for multi-faceted, affordable housing assets in all markets across the country. In addition, he’s in charge of client relation management and conducts all aspects of market research for the Affordable Housing team. Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. McDaniel worked at numerous real estate firms during his college career such as WikiRealty and SmartTouch Interactive, as well as the Newmark Knight Frank’s Student Housing division in Austin, TX.

Mr. McDaniel, a native Houstonian, graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and a Business Foundations Certificate from the McCombs School of Business.

With 10 years of marketing experience, she is responsible for coordinating design, graphics, production, photography, printing, and web content. Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Jackie was a marketing coordinator for Fluor Corporation., an engineering construction company where she gained knowledge of the proposal process. Also, she worked 8 years for ICO Commercial, a Houston based commercial real estate firm as a marketing associate where she furthered her graphics design and commercial real estate expertise.

Jackie graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and a Minor in Global Business and Art History.
