Richard Knutson is a senior managing director with ARA, A Newmark Company’s Emeryville office, serving professional and institutional apartment investors in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Knutson has successfully closed a broad array of transactions, including over 200 sales involving over 14,000 multihousing units and transaction volume in excess of $1.7 billion. Mr. Knutson was previously with Newmark Cornish & Carey’s multihousing division for six years.
Prior to joining Newmark Cornish & Carey, Mr. Knutson co-founded Premier Apartment Advisors, formerly the East Bay office of Moison Investment Company. Mr. Knutson began his real estate career with the Oakland office of Coldwell Banker Commercial as an apartment investment specialist in 1982, where he earned the Top Rookie and Top Five Producer honors during his 15 year tenure.

Anthony Pappageorge is a senior managing director for ARA, A Newmark Company specializing in the marketing and sale of multifamily properties located throughout Northern California, with an emphasis on the East Bay markets within the Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Mr. Pappageorge represents both private and institutional clients and has completed multiple NNN exhanges. Additionally, Mr. Pappageorge has experience in the sale of self-storage properties, closing transactions consisting of more than 2,000 units. He had previously been with the multifamily division of Newmark Cornish & Carey for six years.
Prior to joining Newmark Cornish & Carey, Mr. Pappageorge was a salesperson with Premier Apartment Advisors in Alameda, where he specialized in the marketing and sale of multifamily properties located in his core market. Before beginning his real estate career, he was an events coordinator for a record label company, an intern with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and an investigator for the Washington D.C. Public Defender’s Office.
Mr. Pappageorge received his undergraduate degrees from George Washington University, where he completed a triple major in philosophy, psychology and photography. He was awarded a scholarship to attend law school at Golden Gate University and is currently completing coursework to receive the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation (CCIM).
