Matthew P. Rotan, vice chairman ARA, A Newmark Company, has been involved in the multifamily industry since 1989. His responsibilities include hands-on interaction with all assignments taken on by the Houston office of ARA Newmark, as well as being in contact with equity sources and maintaining capital markets relationships. In addition to day-to-day consulting and brokerage services, Mr. Rotan is responsible for developing new business opportunities for brokerage and advisory services in Texas and across the United States. He served as a member of ARA Newmark’s Executive Committee for six years and has also frequently been asked by various organizations to speak as an expert on the Houston and Texas apartment markets.

Just prior to co-founding ARA, now ARA, A Newmark Company, Mr. Rotan spent eight years with CB Commercial and before that he worked for the George Bush for President Campaign as organizational director for the state of Oklahoma upon graduation from college.

Mr. Rotan is the chairman of the board of directors and the executive committee of the Boys & Girls Country Home in Katy, Texas, an organization assisting children in crisis; an active member of St. Martins Church where he recently served on the Vestry and a member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Breeder's Greeter's Committee which supports college scholarships for Texas youth. He is a fourth generation Houstonian who has been married for over 25 years and has four children.

David K. Oelfke, vice chairman and co-founder of ARA, A Newmark Company, has been in the multifamily investment business since 1986 and has received nationwide recognition for his performance in the apartment market both in Houston and throughout the United States. For over 20 years, Mr. Oelfke has been integrally involved in the marketing process on all of the properties represented by his office from the preparation of opinion of values and final packaging to contracting and closing. Having been personally involved in the sale of over $10 billion in multifamily property sales, he has the experience and execution skills to successfully orchestrate any multifamily transaction.

Mr. Oelfke serves on the board of directors for Apartment Life (www.apartmentlife.org), a 501C3 corporation committed to enhancing the lives of residents in over 300 apartment communities across the nation by connecting residents to one another through the CARES program. He is also active in other non-profit organizations such as The College of Biblical Studies, The Brookwood Community, Yellowstone Academy, Stoney Creek Ranch and Second Baptist Church. Mr. Oelfke has been married to his wife Rosanne for 23 years and has three children David Hill, Kendall and Sam.  He holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in finance from The University of Texas at Austin.

David C. Wylie, vice chairman, has spent his career at ARA, A Newmark Company and thus been involved in the multifamily investment sales business for more than 15 years. His primary focus has been on new business development, maintaining relationships and serving the needs of existing clients, while building the ARA Newmark team in Houston. Mr. Wylie recruited and now works to help oversee the ARA Newmark Land Services team in Houston, as well as the Texas-based private client services team that focuses on Class B and C properties. Mr. Wylie has a diversified list of core clients that ranges from private investors to institutional owners and developers. As an integral part of the team, he has been involved in the sale of over $7 billion in multifamily properties.

Mr. Wylie attended The University of Texas where he studied business and Spanish and spent two semesters in Argentina developing his Spanish language communication skills and furthering his education. He is actively involved at Second Baptist Church and eXult Ministries- a Bible based leadership development program.

Mr. Wylie has been married for 12 years to his wife Nona and has 3 boys, Charlie, Ben and John, and a girl, Margaret.

Cliff McDaniel serves as an executive managing director within the Affordable Housing Group of ARA, A Newmark Company’s Houston office. He has become an expert in the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) arena and regularly speaks on panels concerning the valuation of LIHTC properties. Mr. McDaniel’s in depth knowledge of the Qualified Contract Process (QCP) and Right of First Refusal (RoFR) process, as well as Year-15 sales options, has allowed him to create unique and creative opportunities for his clients. He maintains good relationships with General Partners and Limited Partner's which has allowed him to help negotiate and resolve contentious issues with parties that have diverging interest. Mr. McDaniel’s clients include Trammell Crow Residential, AIG, AIMCO, Wood Partners, Morrison Grove, Wentwood Capital and Boston Financial as well numerous local and regional general partners.

In addition to directing the brokerage services for ARA Newmark’s Affordable Housing group, he is also involved in various philanthropic efforts serving as Executive Director of On Track Ministries, Vice President of Club Outreach Ministries, and Secretary of West Houston 15 MUD.

David Mitchell, executive managing director, oversees all aspects of the transaction process from valuation, marketing and client contact, due diligence, negotiations of the purchase and sale agreement through deal funding. David is also involved in client development and debt/equity sourcing. He has been directly involved in approximately $12 billion in multifamily transactions since joining ARA, A Newmark Company.

Prior to joining ARA Newmark, David was a manager in the Capital Markets Group of a large corporation where he was involved in the financial analysis, due diligence, financing negotiations and the restructuring of a $600 million private equity portfolio. Before attending graduate school, David spent two years at Merrill Lynch & Co.
 
David received his BA and MBA from The University of Texas at Austin and is currently on the Advisory Council of the Real Estate Finance and Investment Center and the Chancellor's Council Executive Committee at The University of Texas. David also serves on the business development board at Cadence Bank and serves on the steering committee for the Leaders of Tomorrow at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. David is a board member of Valet Waste, the largest valet trash and recycling collection services company in the U.S., servicing over 500,000 apartment units per day.

Executive Managing Director Adam Allen leads the NGKF Capital Markets team in the Houston office of ARA, A Newmark Company, which originates debt and equity capital for multihousing property owners. Mr. Allen has extensive experience in arranging and structuring joint venture equity investments as well as mezzanine and preferred equity investments for sponsors. Additionally, he has experience in placing permanent, bridge and construction loans with banks, life companies, bridge lenders, CMBS groups and Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae.

Mr. Allen also has responsibility within the company for originating and managing investment sales transactions of existing multihousing properties. He has been involved in more than $5 billion of multihousing investment sales and capital markets transactions since joining the company in 2011.

David Marshall, executive managing director for ARA Newmark, specializes in urban redevelopment and suburban land sales for all buyer and seller types. Prior to joining ARA Newmark, Mr. Marshall worked with a consulting firm where he provided support in corporate real estate consulting services, financial valuation services, tax consulting, depreciation and cost recovery services. His real estate consulting and valuation assignments have been located throughout the United States with extensive work in the Houston, New York, and California markets. Mr. Marshall has also engaged in due diligence for multiple multi-billion dollar portfolio acquisitions and dispositions.

In addition to winning the CCIM Land Forecast competition in 2014, he was named a Houston Business Journal Heavy Hitter for Land Brokerage in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Mr. Marshall possesses a BBA in Finance from Baylor University and is a licensed real estate broker.

Tom Dosch, executive managing director, has been part of the ARA Newmark Land Services team in Houston since 2012 and has played a key role in growing their total production from less than $400 million to almost $1 billion. Mr. Dosch focuses on generating and managing land listings as well as sourcing buyers of all land use types, and he specializes in locating urban redevelopment and suburban land opportunities for all buyer types.

Since 2013, Mr. Dosch has participated in nearly $600 million in land transactions, approximately $160 million of which he has closed. He manages all aspects of the transaction process from valuation, pricing strategies, marketing, client contact, due diligence and negotiations of the purchase and sale agreement through deal funding. Alliance, Hines, JLB, Mill Creek, Oden Hughes, Spanos and Stanmore are among his list of clients.

Prior to joining ARA Newmark, Mr. Dosch assisted with $250 million in land transaction volume and over $1 billion in valuation analysis as an analyst at PPHB, a boutique investment bank located in Houston.

Mr. Dosch is actively involved in Houston’s First Baptist Church and he also serves on the Executive Board of CHARM Prison Ministries. He and his wife Jackie have been to Africa numerous times and are involved in two ministries there which include Children’s Cup, a ministry focused on caring for forgotten children, and Beyond, a radio and drinking water ministry in Ghana.

Tim Dosch, executive managing director for ARA Newmark, brings a heightened level of suburban land sales, urban redevelopment, and corporate relocation expertise that elevates and expands service delivery to clients. Mr. Dosch founded ARA Houston Land Services in 2007 in order to service current client land needs and build a land brokerage business for ARA.

Since its inception in 2007, he has led the Houston Land group to nearly $1 billion in land transactions and approximately 175 listings. The Houston Land team represents sellers and buyers of all land types including: office, retail, seniors housing, medical, mixed-use, residential lots, multifamily, patio home, large acreage tracts, land notes and hotels.

Mr. Dosch’s highly focused approach to the land business has delivered consistent top-of-the-market results for his clients, some of which include: Johnson Development Corp., Martin Fein Interests, BBVA Compass, BB&T Bank, Amegy Bank, Southern Foods, The Lionstone Group, McCord Development, Post Properties and Avalon Bay.

Among his many notable transactions, Mr. Dosch sold a 10.5 acre infill tract of land for close to $40 million. He also represented the buyer in the purchase of a site at the corner of Weslayan and W. Alabama for a 40 story mixed-use residential high-rise, and he represented BBVA Compass in multiple large acreage land transactions ranging from 200 to 700 acres.

Holly Campbell Minter joined ARA, A Newmark Company, in 2015 as executive managing director in Houston to help lead the expansion of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s real estate investment banking platform locally and nationally. As a leader in the NGKF Capital Markets group, Ms. Minter focuses primarily on creating customized financing solutions for multihousing owners and investors locally, regionally and nationally. Ms. Minter has a long-standing track record of success as a direct lender for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and has deep relationships with life insurance companies, conduits/CMBS lenders, national, regional and local banks, debt funds and other capital providers. During the past 10 years, she has sourced more than $8 billion in capital for commercial real estate owners and has consistently been recognized as a top producer in the industry. Spencer Hough is a transaction manager for the NGKF Capital Markets debt and structured finance group in ARA Newmark’s Houston office. His primary responsibilities include managing all aspects of the transaction process including underwriting, marketing, client and lender contact and closing. Additionally, Mr. Hough assists the team with the origination of construction, interim and permanent debt, mezzanine financing and equity for commercial real estate assets in various stages of the investment cycle including acquisitions, refinances, partnership buyouts and new development.

Prior to joining ARA Newmark, Mr. Hough was an associate director on the Central Originations team at GE Capital Real Estate (GECRE) in Dallas. While there, he assisted originators with all internal and external transaction matters including sourcing through broker and borrower channels, structuring, negotiating and closing of CMBS and structured financing commercial real estate loans. Additionally, he was responsible for all transaction analysis including cash flows, asset evaluation, market research, return projections, property valuation and creditworthiness of borrowers, providing the originations team initial screening and final credit committee investment presentation for a variety of commercial real estate debt investments. During Mr. Hough’s time at GECRE, he assisted the central region in the closing of $1.1 billion in total loan commitments, delivering an estimated $49.5 million in net income to GECRE.

Before joining GECRE, Mr. Hough was an analyst at Invesco Real Estate in Dallas where he assisted with the valuation and underwriting of Invesco’s $20.4 billion of U.S. direct commercial real estate investments for separate account, opportunistic, value-add and core fund clients. Additionally, he provided financial analysis to support real estate investment, asset management, financing and disposition decisions.

Brandon Buell is a transaction manager with ARA, A Newmark Company’s Student Housing group where he is responsible for all aspects of property dispositions and the marketing process as well as market research, developing new business and fostering existing business relationships.

Prior to joining ARA Newmark, Mr. Buell was an associate partner at ApexOne Investment Partners, a private equity group in Houston, TX where his primary responsibilities included acquisitions, dispositions and asset management for both student housing and conventional multifamily assets within a 33-state region. During his tenure there, Mr. Buell sourced 100 percent of the student housing properties for the fund and asset managed 75 percent of the student housing portfolio. Other responsibilities included overseeing due diligence and renovations, and reporting to joint venture partners. Mr. Buell worked closely with an array of large student housing joint venture partners including Crow Holdings, Balfour Beatty, Behringer Harvard and Rockstreet Partners. His experience in acquiring approximately $400 million of student housing and conventional apartment properties throughout the country provides vital knowledge to clients in valuing assets and developing disposition strategies.

Mr. Buell graduated from the Rawls Business School at Texas Tech University. He has been involved with his church in many capacities including Elder, Chairman of the School Committee and high school youth advisor. He has also served as a director on a Houston area Municipal Utility District board for more than 12 years. Mr. Buell, a native Houstonian, still resides there along with his wife and two children.

His duties provide detailed support for the overlying business in which ARA Newmark is involved. Mr. Stockton joined ARA Newmark in March 2004 after two years as an auditor with KPMG. While at KPMG, Mr. Stockton spent his time examining in depth accounting practices of various companies as well as studying other general business practices of clients. Mr. Stockton also has experience as an investment analyst at an equity trading hedge fund as well as analyst experience at GE Capital Real Estate. His work experience is complimented with an accounting degree from the University of Baylor.
